The Animal Protection League of Mercer County was founded in August 2001 by a concerned group of animal lovers who recognized a genuine need in the county for the education of the public regarding proper animal care and treatment. The APLMC is a no kill organization dedicated to saving pets in need in Mercer County, Ohio. We are a 501 (c) 3 non profit charitable organization.
We pull dogs from kill shelters and take in owner surrenders. All our dogs are get their vet work done before adoption and are microchipped. We do treat heartworm positive dogs and provide vet care for stray/injured pets.
This is a foster based rescue and all our dogs stay in foster care until adopted.
